King of Walks
Ben McGrath has a terrific article about the Barry Bonds doping scandal in the March 28 issue of The New Yorker, but sadly, you need a subscription to read it.
Another great New Yorker article: The Poverty Clinic – Can a stressful childhood make you a sick adult? Behind a paywall, but in the March 21 issue I brought home from the library today.
The Poverty Center New Yorker article is available as a PDF at http://bit.ly/gOAxip Also interesting is this post by Steve Balt (I see you follow his blog): “Stress, Illness, and Biological Determinism” http://bit.ly/eulHBj . He asks: in our medicalized culture, is identifying the impact of childhood stress and trauma in children of the poor an invitation for more drugs.

Available in public libraries, for those who still read paper :-)
